No. Direct Pediatrics, Inc. does not provide health insurance to your child.

Do I need health insurance?

Yes. We recommend you maintain health insurance coverage in the event your child has a catastrophic event that will need hospital or emergency room care. We suggest a PPO plan that allows us to coordinate your care best and will not need referrals for specialists. Please know that HMO plans may refuse to pay for any services or prescriptions not ordered by an in-network Physician.

Will you bill my insurance for your services?

No. We are not contracted with any third party insurance plans/networks. However, insurance will be billed through a third party for vaccines administered in our office.

Do you take Medicaid?

Unfortunately, Kentucky and Missouri are the only two states in the US that have laws prohibiting medical offices from accepting money from families with Medicaid as their primary insurance. As a result, until this law is amended, we are unable to accept patients with Medicaid.

What is your position on vaccines?

We encourage all our families to vaccinate their children according to the schedule recommended by the AAP and the ACIP. We believe that vaccines are modern medicine’s most important contribution to both the health of individuals and populations. We will agree to see families who intend to get their children vaccinated on an alternate schedule but will continue to recommend the AAP schedule. If you do not plan to vaccinate your children, this practice would probably not be a good fit for your family.

Do you administer vaccines?

Yes. We will administer vaccines and utilize a third party vendor to bill your health insurance for the vaccines and administration fees.
